An Hour To Spare
As there were lots of "white" photoblogs recently, I thought I would have a go at water drops and make it colourful too.
I used a glass kitchen bowl, some Christmas wrapping paper and a tumbler to drop the water. I couldn't think of anything else to use that I had.
I set the camera to 1/200 sec and popped the flash. Timing and focus were the two main problems, but managed to get the droplets in focus. I did try a smaller aperture, but the wrapping paper came into focus as well - an effect that I didn't want.
Anyway, this was my first go at this subject so any constructive comments would be welcome.

Hello snowman

This was my first test shot to make sure my exposure was correct before positioning the camera for the above shots. When that was O.K., I just moved the camera and re-focused. I took about 10 shots before capturing my first drop!

Yes Mr Torres, but I did have lots of wasted shots! A reasonably steady stream helped too. I think I'll try a dish with less depth next time to capture the splash. Deeper water tends to create columns.
