Trains, Skis and Sleds
Like almost everyone I woke this morning to a winter wonderland.

It was obvious that I was going nowhere in these today.

There was nothing to do in the greenhouse and the garden.

I attempted a few bird photos in the Garden but the tray with nuts and seeds on it was guarded by an agressive blackbird and so I missed some yellow wagtails, and a siskin(?)

A walk along the footpath that leads to the Nene Valley railway seemed a good idea, and a possible opportunity for next years Christmas card photo.

A small bridge over a narrow stream.

The use of skis seemed a good idea as this woman glided past me.

In the lake next to the station several geese and ducks were on the ice and had adopted this one legged stance. Obviously, a way of keeping one foot warm. A stance I nearly adopted myself waiting for the train to appear.

I thought this might make a Christmas card?

At last the train arrived. I was reminded of the scene in Dr Zhivago where Lara is waiting in the middle of nowhere.

Worth the wait though!

I was on my way home when I ran into my neighbours, and their daughter and grandson.

This was an excuse to take sled riding photos. However, I could not get the exposure right or the focus. Must practice while I have the opportunity.

There is no fool like an old fool, eh!!

Wonderful shots of your snow! We have no snow and green grass, with temps of 3 - 5 degrees C. Not sure what has happened to our winter, but you obviously are enjoying the snow and winter conditions! Glad you were able to get out for a walk and take a few photos. Thanks for sharing...
Spring has Sprung! Enjoy ... Eleanor
