After many years photographing with Canon SLRs - yes that was the 35mm age
, I switched over to digital, years ago, like probably every amateur.
But more interesting I never got a DSLR, I tried to go more compact - using very compact models in the beginning and later on a 'bridge' Canon S3 for quite some years now.

Hello everybody,
I am new to photography when not using the automatic mode, and I am really willing to learn how to take proper photographs in the manual mode. I am using a Fujifilm Finepix S4000. I have been studying the ISO, shutter speed, aperture and so on on the internet and I understand what it is and what it does but I have some difficulty applying those elements while actually taking photographs.
