That`s a cracking photo for this task Terry. Unless it`s my eyes, my only cc would be the perspective of the frame looks wrong ? The edge under the butterfly looks taller than the opposite edge. Apart from that, excellent work.

You are probably correct Jeff, looking at it on here the right hand side is not vertical, my only excuse is that I was working very close to the corner and wanted to get as much of the Thistle in the picture as I could.

Lovely work Terry - allowing the thistles to pop out the frame too, on the right, would have solved your problem - but would have been 'prickly'!!

Be what you are, say what you feel, 'cos those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Looks pretty good to me.. the drop shadows on the butterfly are super, & you could always curl the sides of the picture to account for the perspective

A good subject and you've isolated the butterfly really skillfully with the antennae intact. I'd have been tempted to leave the top wing tip hidden in the frame to help avoid the impression that the butterfly is flying over a photograph it was not a part of but that's just my view. Nice work Terry.

Very attractive end product and some nice selection and shadow work
The main CC points have already been mentioned and in return you've gained three great tips from Angie, Mary-Ann and Alan......Hang bits out to hide or disguise things......if that doesn't work too well, bend them out of shape and nobody will notice....and leave a bit caught inside to emphasise the in and out!
Can't go wrong using all them but you've not gone very wrong with this one anyway..it's a lovely composition

Hi Teztec.
The frame issue, could probably be resolved with some shadowing to give some depth and let the brain take in which direction it is in as i didn't see the frame the way Worzel must have perceived it at first glance then payed more attention to the frame and saw it from another view point, shadow would rectify this i am sure.
Very nice idea and good clean cutting of the subject maybe try the top part of the wing inside the frame as it looks like the butterfly has just landed on a photo of a thistle, unless that was your intended look?
Nice and vibrant colours and nice shadow on the butterfly to give a realistic look and 3 dimensional.
Take care

I think it's an optical illusion due to the angle of the frame, a like from me for an original idea.
Thank you for your comment, regards Leon.
